Sybil was Rick’s Mom. 

Sybil Joy Kerr left Oklahoma in the 1940's with her mother and sister to seek a new life in California. She went to school, got a job, got married, and had one child. She had many interests, but those that stood out were a passion for education and love of the outdoors. To fulfill her dream of spending more time in the outdoors she purchased the land this Cabin is built on in the 1960’s in anticipation of building a permanent home. Later that dream was dashed due to an accident which ended in disability keeping her closer to home in Sacramento. Despite health related problems she always had a warm spot in her heart for Strawberry and its incredible beauty. She died in 2005 with her dream never fulfilled.

This cabin was built to her memory and as a lasting legacy to her strength, passion, and love of the outdoors.
